Glenbrook Creek Restoration

The Glenbrook Creek Restoration Project was a stream and meadow restoration to improve channel morphology and function as well as fish and wildlife habitat for Glenbrook Creek, in Glenbrook, Nevada. The project intended to improve vegetation diversity and wildlife habitat with vegetation management of a 3.5 acre area. Additionally, the project restored approximately 300 linear feet of stream by removing two culverts, replacing one with an arch culvert that allows fish passage, constructing a section of new channel, and stabilizing portions of the existing channel. Construction occured in 2013. The stream was subjected to an event that exceeded teh 100 year 1 hour storm before vegetation was completely established during the summer of 2014. The video below shows the storm event in action. The creek held up to the impact of the storm and is thriving today.
